Potential applications for climate services originated from the CLIMAX project

CLIMAX ( Climate Services Through Knowledge Co-Production: A Euro-South American Initiative For Strengthening Societal Adaptation Response to Extreme Events ) was an international project funded by FAPESP-Belmont forum developed during the 2016–2021 period. Germany, France, Netherlands, Argentina/France and Brazil were partners who worked in common objectives tasks. The composed of four main Work Packages (WP), which interacted achieve final goal developing potential applications climate services. Here, some researches results conducted team Brazil, aiming at application services several sectors, mainly energy sector are presented, including collaborations. WP0—Co-design Co-Production , collaboration with sector, National Operator Electric System (ONS). research activities through interactions between researchers, personnel social scientists, focusing on applications. WP1—Physical processes explaining variability South America aimed study remote regional features associated precipitation extremes over America, emphasis regions where hydrographic basins located. WP2—Predictability Prediction tools studies, sub-seasonal timescale, a timescale identified be useful for ONS. WP3— Social information appropriation scientists had mission producing characterization electric sector. WP1 WP2 summarized, illustrating WP0 WP3 presented other papers.
